what do you think took this photo of the comet do you think this is part of the comet braking off.

When did you take the shot & How long was the exposure? to me it looks like image shift during the exposure.

I got similar effects when I took some shots without using a remote/cable release, due to mirror bounce/camera shake, it looks like the effect when the camera moves during the exposure. The tail is also looks rather more blurred than I have seen in recent images.

It is easy to confirm by checking images from other people taken at the same time.

If that is fragmentation then - Wow! That would be an awesome catch. When was the photo taken Phil?

Thanks for the reply. From what everyone is saying it is camera shake. To Radar the photo was taken in Rockhampton Queensland.

I tend to think a double exposure but it would have been great if it had fragmented and you caught it.

Cool shot mate. If it were a fragmentation that would be a great shot.
