These images were taken on the 5th and 6th of Jan. This is only the second imaging session with my new DMK and I am very happy with the results. The seeing was terrible for imaging but I think the final image came out pretty good . Processed with Registax4.

Both images were taken an hour apart from each other.

Awesome mate. You are getting some great detail considering the time you've had with that camera and the size of the scope.

Would be cool to make an animation of Mars rotating sometime. Not sure how much work would go into that though.

Ray, now that you have mentioned it... How do you make an animation of Mars rotating?

After you have created say four images of Mars. You'll need a program like FireWorks or Flash or create a sequence of them. You simply load each image into a layer and give the layer a duration to play before the program moves onto the next layer. Then simply export the image as a gif file.

I just did a quick google and there seems to be quite a lot of programs out there which are specifically designed for this task,

Try some of these out mate.

Hi Matt

Good stuff on your first lot of images. New toys are lots of fun!

I am hoping to have a crack on Friday night.
If it is clear during the day over the weekend I will have my first light with my DMK on the Sun - I feel a little more optimistic - we had about 2 hours of clear sky today, 6 hours of heavy cloud and only 2 hours of rain! Things are on the up!

What has the learning curve been like so far? Any first up tips for me?

Keep sharing your images!

See ya

Hopefully the clouds clear up for you

The learning curve has not been steep at all. Through a bit of trial and the learning curve is steadily evening out. With some help and advice along the way it has made this experience that much easier. I'm not if I have any tips for you, just have fun!

How long have you had you DMK for?

Hi

I have had my camera since the 14th December - and I kid you not - no clear skies since then.

I hope this weekend is better!

See ya
