I finally had a chance to use the DMK last night (this morning) and I got a few shots of Saturn. The seeing was reasonable so I was able to get a few decent shots of Saturn before the clouds appeared.
What a camera, I wish a had a opportunity to use the Barlow on Saturn but it is a bit hard to image through cloud.
I am very happy with my first attempt of Saturn with the DMK. A great way to start off ‘08.

A barlow will make a difference but for a first chop with your new camera that's very good effort mate.

Wow Matt, for a first attempt that is awesome. Is the camera difficult to use, what is the processing side like? How easy on a scale of 1- 10 was that image to get? Reason I ask is because most people don't have an 12 or 14 inch telescope. Your results with an 8 inch are awesome and I'm sure many people would be interested to know.
Cheers mate

Thanks for the comments
Ray,
Is the camera difficult to use? Not at all, for a total beginner like myself. I've started to get a hang of all the functions in about two nights with the camera. The software is a big help, everything you need is right there in front of you.
What is the processing side like? My processing skills are not the best, I just run the AVI through Registax.
How easy on a scale of 1- 10 was that image to get? If 10 is the easiest, I'd say 8-9. The only problem I had was centering Saturn on the CCD chip. All you really have to do is keep the histogram fully exposed and everything is easy from there on.
Last night I was able to image Saturn and Mars again both with a Barlow attached. I'll post them soon.
