Good news for fans of JRR Tolkien's works and subsequent movies the shakers and movers at New Line and MGM, plus Peter Jackson, have it seems resolved their differences and plans are afoot to go ahead and put the The Hobbit into production.......plus a sequel

It's amazing how big the market is for these types of movies. The hobbit will be another Harry Potter type thing I imagine.

I hope not, as a teen,(30 yrs ago.) I had an intricate Hobbitan poster on my bedroom wall.
A little later,I also acquired the animated version of The Hobbit. I was actually a little peeved that the Lord of the Rings was a prequel to the Hobbit.
I feel like 'The Hobbit', should have been the first movie, with Lord of the Rings, as a follow up.

"THE HOBBIT" is where it all begins...:woot:

LONG LIVE FRODO!

As a fan of the books and films Im just glad its getting done  but I was surprised to that the LOTR was adapted into film first. Apparently there will be a sequel made of the events between "The Hobbit and "LOTR" as well :woot:

I am an extreme JRR Tolkein fan. I can't wait for the movie. I've seen the animated version, but it doesn't quite live up to the book. Hopefully, this new one will be better.

I wonder if they'll make gollum look any different?

What do you guys think?

Welcome to the site LJF,

If Peter Jackson is behind this next movie, I'm sure it will be a big hit. I thought he did an amazing job on King Kong.

i'm just glad they've gotten over their differences and come to an agreement.I can't wait...I just hope it's as good as they did the LOTR's.
