Unfortunately, many observers across the country seem to have missed out seeing this daytime comet at its brightest, which is a pity because it looked fantastic in a daytime sky, as I said in my various radio interviews, "a rare sight indeed". I am amazed at the media and general public interest. I never thought I would be on ABC Queensland, living as I do in Hobart. A great buzz was doing the interviews while I was actually looking at the comet!
Still a few days left as it races away from the sun on it's eternal journey.
This link will take you to my daytime shots, enjoy.

And this link is my western horizon view from the top of my hill. Often makes a good backdrop.

Good effort Shevill.
Is that second link a photo taken from your garden? If so, that is awesome. You are lucky to have such a great view. You'll always have somewhere to point your telescope when it's cloudy

Not quite, I have to drive up the road a couple of minutes, I also see this from the Uni Mt Observatory Canopus site where I am going later to see if I can get some comet shots with the mountain as a feature. The Uni observatory (40" ) 1.04m is only 12 km from Hobart and at the observatory location we have a great view back to Hobart over the Derwent, which is fantastic. We live lower down the Mt Canopus hill with a great 180 degree view, no street lights or house lights, it is a nice private 5-acres only 10 minutes to Hobart. It is a magic place.
The front cover of SKY & SPACE magazine is the dome for the 1.04m 30 seconds on a stationary tripod, gives you an idea of our skies. The same as the centre spread pic, just 30 seconds on a tripod, no mount, it takes several minutes for guys in the UK to get the same image density. I will stand in the same spot to-night and look over to Mt Wellington, hopefully with a comet above, to-night.
Weather looking really good (6pm), check out the link at 9pm our time or so and you will see the lights of Hobart and the bridge, might even see the comet!!
