This planetarium software came packaged with some Jodrell Bank lecture material. If they like it....should be worth a look.

Hi gyro,
I've seen this program used on some other sites to show upcoming astro events etc.Seems like it could be a very useful/helpful program.

Downloading as I type. Thanks for the info mate.

Tim when you say you've seen this on other sites, do you mean integrated or just screenshots from it?

Thanks

Ray

Screen shots.Usually with a link to the free download, and a statement recognizing stellarium as the originator of the screen shot.

There is another similiar program I've seen screen shots from...if I can find it I will post the link here.

And here it is.It is also free.

Okay, finally got to road test Stellarium last night. Personally I think it is an awesome program. Even better because it's free. How do these people make money out of it? I like the fact that stellarium was very simple and fast to load and doesn't seem to use up tonnes of system resources. I'll be using this quite often.

Thanks for the tip John.

P.S Tim, another freebee? Wow, I'll be downloading that one to.

Glad you like it Ray. When Jodrell Bank guys use it for some lectures....its got to be worth a look. I have just learned how to 'drive' my Starry Night but won't be spending money on upgrades with freebies like Stellarium around.
