This question has fascinated me, time is all around but what is it? I found the following link that was very interesting to me, especially the last couple of lines.

"But how do you explain something that is so apparent to us and so completely necessary to our every experience in life, yet has no form? It is as though it exists only in our minds even though its effects are perceived to be everywhere throughout the universe."

I can't explain Time in simple words Mick, but I can put together some of the observations that I see.

Here goes  -

Radar's Laws of Time

Time is based on what you want -

Time will always go fast when you want it to last longer.

Time will go slow when you want it to go faster.

You can never have more time when you want more time, even though it never stops coming.

You can't buy it, but you can find it if you want it, and in Astro Dave's case, you can serve or do time when you don't want to do it after being wanted.

Time is the force that moves us forward into the future at a rate of one second per second whether we want it or not.

Ray

P.S I didn't read that link yet Mick but will soon (no enough time yet).

Interesting subject Mick ... it seems you think a lot about 'Time'... so do I (when I get time)

Funny but the past is gone forever and can never be revisited. You know it exists only as neurons running around and stored somewhere in our brain. That's all the past is, electrical impulses ...called memory.

The future, our individual future, has NOT happened yet. It does not exist but is FORMED microsecond by microsecond by all of us through our actions and decisions. Time is a man-made invention to order our daily affairs. The Universe does not recognise 'time'.

If you rang a person in New York now an asked them what time it was they'd tell you, but it wouldn't match your watch. In fact, they would not only tell you the 'wrong time' (according to you) BUT they'd also tell you its 'yesterday'. Who is right. You both are!

What is time? Time is what stops everything happening all at once.

Interesting concept time. You need time just to figure out what it is.
