The other night I was doing some light observing with my little Celestron C5 SCT and noticed or had the feeling that something was wrong with the views. Checked collimation and fiddled around a while with different eyepieces but still felt something was up but eventually gave up and packed it in. The next day I had it out again and tested it on terrestrial targets and took the skylight filter off the visual back and looked up the baffle tube and lo and behold found the problem :itsme!: the previous owner had used some sort of material to flock the baffle and it had became unstuck from the baffle wall and curled inside to block probably half the incoming light "AYe Caramba"..... luckily I was able to remove it with no harm and she's back in business. Thinking maybe the hot days lately had caused the adhesive on the flocking material to break free, anyway glad its out of there and surprised I didnt notice the flocking beforehand

Nice detective work Stu. Someone with less experience could have gone on using that telescope for years and not noticed.
