Spirit is bogged on Mars at the moment. These amazing little rovers are well passed their use by date, but are still going strong. If their history is anything to go by, then getting unstuck will be no problem.

Hope it breaks free although the techs seem it should be okay, amazing work these "droids' have done and hopefully will continue to do

It's amazing how far these things have travelled. I caught a good doco about them a few months back on pay tv. The way they were manufactured and also the way they had to land was amazing. Parachutes, rockets and "inflatable balls" :itsme!: . Probably the most difficult landing I'd ever heard of.

Here is a good clip of the landing.

And an awesome one of the mission -

Interesting clips mate. Crazy way to land. Why use those bags to land with?

Why use those bags to land with?

To help prevent damage.

I think i have a solution.

I think all rover should have tink little thrusters built in.
(Like R2D2:biggrin: )
