Hello Phoenix,
Where would I begin? OK, I will start in the daytime with the sun, always a great interest to me because it is a dynamic, ever changing object. Also, if I can see and image the sun, in white light, H-alpha and prominences, it must be a nice day! Of late (late 3 years or more) I have found that we have really nice clear days until the clouds roll in as the sun sets!
After the sun, comes the Moon, a superb target for trying out all types of imaging devices, film, CCD, web cams, DSLR's etc, a fascinating object with ever changing illumination and a real challenge for high resolution imaging. I started with the Moon a long time ago in the UK with Patrick Moore and other BAA Lunar Section members as my mentors. I had good scopes and imaging techniques, which was very useful to the group, so it remains an object of interest for me. Planets come next, again a challenge due to their ever changing sizes and positions. Next would have to be wide sky views of the southern Milky Way, aurora when present, and finally the brighter nebulae, which I have only just started to image.
My main interest over the years has been using video technology for imaging, both for public outreach and imaging.
Clear skies............
Tasmanian skies are covered with smoke from the bushfires in Victoria, a long way from Tasmania.

Geez, I don't know what my fav's would be. Omega Centauri and Tucana through larger aperture telescopes always blow me away. The Tarantula is also amazing through a larger aperture. I even enjoy looking at bright stars, such as sirius. I love the double star Alpha and Proxima Centuari. The list goes on.

Just seeing the night sky with the naked eye from a dark site with the milky way belt high above you cant beat, as for objects the Eta carine neb and surrounds, the Jewelbox , Mars and Jupiter {so interesting imaging}

Actually, I love scanning the sky with bino's during winter. The Sagittarius and Scorpius regions are just over flowing with objects. From a dark sky, and a good pair of bino's, this is a great view.
